Dental Veneer by Dentist

Which Dental Veneer Treatment Works For You?

Dental Veneers are a popular form of cosmetic dental treatment. They have proven to be very effective and will ultimately change your natural looking appearance, helping you confidently smile. Placing veneers addresses many dental issues, whether you are concerned with the shape, size or color of your teeth, dental veneers offer a cosmetic solution for all!

Although dental veneers are considered as a single form of treatment, there are different veneer types available to restore that natural beauty.

The type of veneer treatment is determined by your dentist during the initial examination. The treatment doesn’t exactly fix teeth that are either misshapen, crooked or discolored, but they ultimately block its visibility to help improve the appearance of your teeth. One thing is for sure, they are a tried and tested solution proven to restore that shiny smile.

Here are the different dental veneer types available:

  • Composite Veneers

Composite Veneers is the most populated and shorter form of treatment and more cost-effective than others. The material applied with resin or plastic lasts for up to 10 years. Composite layers are applied to the tooth and molded into a shape that fits your appearance. The preparation and fitting time is minimal and typically takes one appointment visit. The downside is that they aren’t as resistant to teeth discoloration, which may require on-going dental appointments for polishing. If looked after, they could last longer than 7 years.

  • Porcelain Veneers

In terms of generating results, porcelain veneers are the way forward. Although on the expensive side, it delivers a solid transformation of your appearance and smile. Porcelain veneers are unique and custom tailored to fit your shape and size of your teeth. They are particularly resistant to

staining and is ideal for teeth discoloration. To get value for money, it’s essential that they are well looked after. The treatment takes multiple appointments including preparation, as your teeth will need a slight re-shape to match the molded porcelain veneer.

  • Instant Veneers

Instant Veneers are a relatively new treatment which strikes right in the middle between Porcelain and Composite veneers. Veneers are pre-developed and presented to you to accept the closest resembling shape to fit your teeth. Pre-made veneers mean that you won’t need to rely on the dentist to mold composite material to resemble the shape of your tooth, as you would with composite veneers. Although the results will not be matching, you can expect the aesthetic results to be identical. For an immediate solution, choose instant veneers. It is also one of the cheapest treatment available.

  • Removable Veneers

Also known as snap on veneers, removable veneers are made from hard-resin material to snap onto your chipped or broken tooth. You can choose the correct shade, so they fit your natural teeth. Remove Veneers is the cheapest option especially if you cannot afford custom-shaped veneers made from composite or porcelain material. It is considered the most simplistic form of cosmetic treatment but must not be worn when eating and drinking as they are prone to staining. They should be no means be considered as a long-term treatment and should be changed every year.
